Seller Agreement

Welcome, Sellers!
This Seller Agreement outlines your rights and responsibilities when selling on The Australian Store. By creating a seller account, you agree to these terms in addition to our general Terms & Conditions.
1. Seller Eligibility
To sell on The Australian Store, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have the legal right to sell the products or services offered
- Provide accurate business and tax information
- Comply with all applicable Australian laws and regulations
- Maintain an active bank account for receiving payments
2. What You Can Sell
The Australian Store welcomes sellers offering:
- Physical products (handmade, manufactured, wholesale)
- Professional services (consulting, legal, accounting, etc.)
- Creative services (design, writing, photography)
- Trade services (plumbing, electrical, building)
- Digital products (software, templates, courses)
- Educational offerings (coaching, training, workshops)
Prohibited Items & Services:
- Illegal goods or services
- Stolen property
- Counterfeit or unauthorized replica goods
- Items that infringe intellectual property rights
- Dangerous weapons (unless properly licensed)
- Adult/sexual content or services
- Anything prohibited by Australian law
3. Listing Requirements
Accuracy: All listings must contain truthful, accurate descriptions and images
Clarity: Clearly state what’s included, pricing, delivery times, and any conditions
Honesty: Don’t mislead buyers about quality, origin, or capabilities
Images: Use your own photos or properly licensed images
Compliance: Follow Australian consumer law, including accurate product claims and fair pricing
4. Fees & Commissions
Transaction Fee: We charge a percentage commission on each completed sale
Fee Structure:
- Clearly disclosed before you list items
- Automatically deducted from your sale proceeds
- May vary based on category or promotional offers
- Subject to change with 30 days notice
No Upfront Fees: Listing items is free. We only earn when you earn.
5. Payment & Payouts
Payment Processing: Buyers pay through our secure platform. We hold funds temporarily for security.
Payout Schedule:
- Funds released after successful delivery/service completion
- Standard holding period: 7 days after delivery confirmation
- Faster payout for verified sellers with good track records
- Payments transferred to your nominated bank account
Taxes: You’re responsible for all applicable taxes (GST, income tax, etc.). We provide transaction reports to assist with tax compliance.
6. Order Fulfillment
Timely Fulfillment: Ship products or deliver services within the timeframe stated in your listing
Quality Standards: Provide exactly what was described and promised
Communication: Respond to buyer messages within 24 hours
Tracking: Provide tracking information for shipped items when available
Issues: Resolve problems professionally and promptly
7. Returns & Refunds
You must:
- Clearly state your return policy in listings
- Honor the return policy you’ve published
- Comply with Australian Consumer Law guarantees
- Process legitimate refunds within 7 days
- Handle disputes professionally
The platform may mediate disputes and may issue refunds if you fail to fulfill obligations.
8. Seller Performance
We track seller performance through:
- Customer reviews and ratings
- Order fulfillment times
- Response time to messages
- Dispute resolution record
- Policy compliance
Poor performance may result in:
- Reduced visibility in search results
- Warnings and account review
- Temporary suspension
- Account termination (for serious/repeated violations)
9. Intellectual Property
You grant The Australian Store a license to display your listings, images, and content on the platform.
You represent that:
- You own or have rights to everything you list
- Your listings don’t infringe on others’ intellectual property
- You have permission to use all images and descriptions
You remain responsible for any intellectual property violations.
10. Seller Responsibilities
As a seller, you are solely responsible for:
- Accuracy of all listings and claims
- Product safety and quality
- Legal compliance (consumer law, safety standards, licensing)
- Tax obligations (GST registration if required, income tax)
- Business licenses and permits
- Insurance (if applicable)
- Customer service and dispute resolution
11. Account Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate seller accounts for:
- Violation of this agreement or platform terms
- Fraudulent activity
- Selling prohibited items
- Poor seller performance
- Customer complaints or disputes
- Any other reason at our discretion
You may close your account at any time, but must fulfill all outstanding orders first.
12. Platform Changes
We reserve the right to:
- Modify fee structures with 30 days notice
- Update platform features and policies
- Remove listings that violate policies
- Change seller requirements or eligibility criteria
Significant changes will be communicated via email.
